Folks, I know jack crud about cars, so I need some help.
One of my cars is a '94 Chevy Cavalier (yes, I know, I am not living the lap of luxury here).
All of a sudden, two symptoms occurred around the same time that I noticed. A) My windshield wiper fluid stopped being able to spray out (and the spraying area is not blocked or anything I can tell), and B) my turn signals have started flashing at a very slow, kind of off-rhythm pace.
I had my oil change dude check out the windshield thing and he thought it might be related to the motor.
My question...any guesses as to what is wrong here with both of these items? Are they related? If so, is the cost pricey??? I have no money to speak of currently, and a huge car repair related to the motor doesn't sound like fun.
Please give me your thoughts if you have any guesses! Thanks.
Hit on the 4 ways and see if you have a bulb out. If not that you probably have a bad flasher, little square or round relay that makes the clicking sound when you hit the turn signals.
It's usually in the fuse panel.
The Washers have a little pump that is usually located in the resivoir itself. Pump's either bad, or a hose came off or something.
What fluid do you have in your windshield washer reservoir? Water would definitely have frozen by now in Milwaukee. If you have the blue stuff that is available practically everywhere for a buck fifty, then you have a mechanical problem or a loose hose as bill pointed out. Maybe a blown fuse.
IF you only had water in the reservoir, the plastic may have cracked depending on how cold it has been in your area. You may need a new one. Probably not too expensive, though.
