What has been your observation in this area?

I've always noticed that people who own older CJ style jeeps tend to keep them awhile. I've noticed the same thing with Toyota pickups.

Most pickups.
Subarus.
I have three Taurus wagons, two from 1995 and one a 2002.

A lot of it has to do with what people can afford and how comfortable they are driving an older, higher mileage car.

Subaru owners seem to keep them a long time.

The cars I still own after buying new are a 1967 Olds 442, 1994 Toyota Supra TT, 1999 MB E430 Sport. The 442 and Supra TT are show only. The MB is my wife’s daily driver; I drive a 2013 Ford Fusion.

Porsche owners generally keep their rides a long time, some of the local guys have had their cars 40+ years. I'd say the same about vintage Mercedes cars, and early Corvettes and Mustangs.

Toyota 4RUNNERS. 2nd and 3rd generation. Pretty bulletproof, 20mpg and 300k miles not uncommon if you live in a salt free environment.

Trucks for sure. There are plenty of pickups from the 50s and 60s still tooling around with beds full of lawn mowers.

MG's and other British roadsters. I have ran across a few husband just died wife wants to sell type deals over the years. Would buy them, give them a good tune up, drive for a few months and flip for a small profit. Hopefully find another around the summer.
