I have a 2005 Chevy trailblazer, 4 wheel drive. 100,000 kms on it. I was driving at 80 kms an hour when the SUV stopped driving. The motor was still running but the SUV wasn't. I pushed it off the road and turned it off. I let it sit turned off for a min or so. Started it up and drove about 5 feet when I heard what sounded like the muffler dragging on the ground. Hauled in and muffler was fine. Drove again about 20 feet and she stopped driving again with motor still running. Got towed home cause I didn't want to damage it any further. So now it goes in drive but not reverse. I've talked to mechanics with 30 yrs experience and have never heard of it. Can someone please help me. Thanks, Kim.

Had a similar issue. Truck acted as if it was thrown in neutral. Then I stopped it bucked a bunch of times when I put it in drive. Basically needed a trans rebuild.

I had a similar issue with a Monte Carlo some years ago.
Temporary fix was to drop the pan and change the filter and top off with fresh fluid + 1 qt of Lucas Stop Slip. I was surprised at how well that worked.
