To me, luxury SUV is an oxymoron. I think any luxury SUV is just slapping lipstick on a pig. But obviously there is a huge market for it. My wife is one of those people, she insisted on a Lexus RX350. Me, I stick to my modest Subaru Forester when I need a bad weather vehicle.
The SRT is $65,000 for the base model. Audi, BMW, Mercedes, and Land Rover all make sport SUVs with similar size engines that can do 0-60 under 5 seconds for around the same price. Whats your point exactly?
Um... if you want to go fast, buy a sports car instead of a SUV?
Ill load my BMW SUV with passengers and eat that SRT8 up, by a longshot! You really should do your research before throwing false statements out there like that.
Are you people even looking at the same vehicle as me?

Clearly, that was NOT your point. Wasn't the SRT the fastest SUV "by a long shot", but still costs the same as all the "luxury models" and has all the "cushy leather and fancy plastic" that you deride? Do some more research before you make blanket statements. I think you'll find much better made trucks that are just as fast for around the same price point, give or take $10-15k (because, lets be honest, if you can afford to drop $70k down on a car, you can probably drop $90k too).
YES. We know what you are talking about, and the SRT tries to compete with performance SUVs from more capable trucks made by primarily German brands. It is by no means significantly faster than any of its competitors.
The difference is like comparing a normal Kipling's handbag to a LV or Michael Kor's handbag. They can all haul groceries that's what really matters, everything else is just for looks.
I think it's just becoming a pi$$ing contest between BMW fanboys and a Jeep fanboy.
To think an inferior manufacturer who makes cars for peasants could possibly approach the exalted level of the the Fuhrer's automobiles is too much to let go uncontested.

Actually, I think they just have a problem with the misinformation you've posted regarding the Jeep GC's prowess vs other SUVs.
