Originally they were going to called POS but that just didn't have the right sounding connotation like SUV, Someone Under the Vehicle.

People pay more for a tricked out GMC Yukon witch is what a Cadillac Escalade is and is made on the same assembly line as the Yukon and the Tahoe just different trim.

It all depends on what you are looking for.
If you are like most of the people in US who want to buy a SUV and keep it in their garage then you can go any of the models you have mentioned. When I shop for SUV, I personally don't look for luxury. I look for off roading options, crawl control & other 4 wheel drive options and features that I would compare between LR4, GX460/LX570 or a Jeep. I would never buy a SUV which is a 2 wheel or rear wheel drive regardless if it is twin turbo, leather or has heated mirrors, windows or head lights.
