Just bought a 2006 PT cruiser and it's equipped with a Automate AM2 remote entry and has a "kill" switch type set up whereas you don't open the doors with the keyless entry , car doesn't start .
Only have one remote , there is supposed to be a LED/valet switch or button somewhere that allows you to put it in valet mode which allows the remote entry to work but disables the starter kill switch
I can't find where the LED /valet switch is on the car , any ideas where it might be ??
Usually it's a very dmall toggke switch. Look under the dash maybe by the parking brake or hood release . It's usually reachable as you sit in the vehicle.
When we installed alarm systems in vehicles, we always mounted the small toggle switch away from the obvious locations, instead we would install them in the glove box, ash tray housing, under the seat and even in the truck making it harder for the crook to find !!

If I remember correctly, the valet switch is integrated with the LED light on those. You push the LED light for valet button. Is there not a LED light? Check on the "brain" if it has one plugged in. I think it is blue port. (I could be mistaken, it's been a while)
Took it to an alarm place today , there is no led/valet switch installed ..they will install one for me an program the system..thanks for all the help !
