I stated that the store is a real store. A real pawn shop.
The TV show is filmed mostly at this real pawn shop.

The TV part is as phony as they come.
Do you really think that someone is going to a pawn shop with this vehicle?
Or Civil War relics.
Or rare coins. And on and on.
Come on now. A pawn shop?
There is a production company with producers, directors, and TV staff that finds these people to bring in this unusual stuff.

"Like most reality shows, Pawn Stars has scripted drama between the show's stars,Rick, Hoss, and Chumlee. The items featured on the show are not cold customers just randomly walking in, the items have already been researched and prepped for the show."

Do a search "is pawn stars fake" without the quotations. And read up.

The same holds true for American Pickers.
There is a real shop in Iowa.
But the rest is TV drama.
These guys do not drive the van across country. The TV staff does that.
Danielle lives in Chicago and flies in to Iowa to film the store scenes then flies back to Chicago.
Mike came up with the idea of a reality TV show. All make their money from the TV show and not the shop. Now shops.
Mike now is cashing in on the TV shows and opened another shop in Nashville. Yes, it is a real store. But the real money is made on the TV series. Not the shops.

The last time we were there they were filming, and Less Gold abd his kids live in the suburbs of Detroit and they have another store in Pontiac Michigan. And Less knew my boss the Judi's community in metro Detroit are a tight knit community. And if you ever watch the show allot of people bring in Detroit things and also cars and trucks since its the motor city were hot rods and muscle cars are very popular.
