my winch controller won't work anymore.. saw some good deals at Warn Winch Direct..should i get a new one already? or are there ways to repair my controller so i won't have to spend more

I would contact the manufacturer of the original winch. I'm sure they can set something up for a replacement controller at a much lower cost. Some of the new controllers are even wireless, in case that is something you might consider.

It could be the solenoid if it has one on yours. They go out more than the controller but if it is the controller you shouldn't have a problem locating one. EW

I don't know much about it but I would take it apart and look for a fault, if it doesn't do anything I would check for a fuse, how many controls does it have? power on/off forward and reverse? test it for power and that the switchs work, maybe it is the wench or the plug for the controller, you can use a test light or multimeter.
