Did they rotate the tires? You may have to reset the sensors. . I had to do it on my Tahoe. It's pretty simple and there are videos on YouTube to walk you through it. The only tool I needed was a tire pressure guage.
Most likely knocked a wheel speed sensor when doing the brake job. Take it back to them, they'll hook it up to their scanner, find out which one and pull the tire to see what they did.
Then you can ask them why they didn't notice it and returned the vehicle to you like that.
They should be quite apologetic about it, because.. That's a pretty big screwup in their procedures. I wouldn't have a meltdown over it, but..
I had brakes done on my 2013 Suburban but the ABS light is still on
so the ABS light was on before you had the "brakes done", right? You don't mention that you were hearing any brake related noises or having poor braking response.
there's lots of possible reasons why the ABS light was on ... among them could be a failed wiring/sensor/ECU/brake controller.
But: Doing a "brake job", typically a friction replacement on your vehicle ... would likely have done nothing to resolve the ABS light being on if the ABS system had a non-related problem.
Why were the "brakes" done on this vehicle? was there a problem there? did the shop find that the pads were worn out or close to that minimum thickness? Did the brakes work normally before the "brake job" was done, other than the ABS light being on?
You need to take the 'burban to a shop with the diagnostic ability to determine what the failure is in the ABS system and have them correct that problem.
I'm not sure that I'd take the vehicle back to that first shop. I'd take it to another shop instead that understands to verify the customer complaint with the vehicle and goes through a diagnostic/repair process to then verify that they've fixed the complaint.
Sounds like they left an ABS sensor unplugged, or broke it while doing the brake job.
"but the ABS light is STILL on."
Doesn't sound like they caused it. Of course they didn't fix it either.
