I just recently bought my wife a 2013 XLE FWD. I thought I had paid $20,888 for it. That was the price that was shown on the vehicle. Something kept nagging me so I went and looked at the contract once again and realized that we were charged $22,275 for it. Know I know that it is my fault for not looking over the contract more closely but has anyone encountered this and gotten a new contract written up with the correct price or am I just screwed? We have had the car for a little over a week now. Thanks.

Sales contracts can be funky because often times they add the cost of financing into the final price which is pretty silly. Make sure you are not being confused by that first.

Good luck man. You can try and argue it but I doubt it's gonna go anywhere. Unfortunately mist people let their guard down in the financial office. You sure you aren't looking at a TOTAL price of car tax license dealer bs tack in fees
What I do is bring my own check from my bank and a calculator

I rechecked and the sales tax was added which still means we were charged about $700 too much. I cannot find anything on there that would explain the extra $700.

I must be missing something because the service contract I signed gives the original price we agreed to.

I would go back and have the finance office describe AND explain every charge, you may be owed some money.

Normally dealers add tax in last charging you for stuff that IMO shouldn't be chargeable

3 year payment term? ~1% finance rate?

Sounds like the cost of financing to me.

It is 6 years at 4.99%. I am going to refinance later at my bank which is advertising 2.23%. I found another sheet which has the correct price but I still cannot find the extra $700.

When I saw that I cringed myself but I know I can get a lower rate at my bank and probably knock the term down to 60 months.
