Wow, did not realize you were actually referring to air leaked from the porous surface of the wheel. I actually read the GM TSB published in 2010. Hopefully it's a simple fix, nowadays wheels are pricey as well.
I second this. I had two slow leaks over the years and replaced the valve stem (costs couple of bucks at an auto store) to address the leak....
But the guy at 2nd shop sprayed good amount of soapy water at the valve stem base, and inside the valve stem (after removing the cap), and we did not see bubbles/foam. Is it possible to miss that by soapy water test?

Was the tire on the car when he did that? I would wgaer theres a hidden nail in it somewhere. I would have thw tire removed from the rim and check it.
Would be my last resort of coz. Four tires were bought new by previous owner roughly three years ago, only had less than 40k miles on it, Goodyear Assurance ComforTread. Hopefully it's a simple fix.

Wait a second, 3 year old tires? With how many miles? I just replace all of them and be done with it. (And with something other than GoodForAYear)
Regardless, without the added weight of th ecar, the leak may be so very small it actually wont leak enough to bubble.
When I have had leaks like that, I submerge the tire wheel and all , and the source of trouble is found.
Oft time the rim is the culprit however the wheel rim can have a blem in the casting or weld some where.
thats why submerging works best .
