Couple of days ago saw a BMW 2002 "Running Project" car, primer spots all over the body, I guess he intends to paint it eventually. I have seen this car a few times.

Friday I saw a Ford GT, 2005 era.
Last week I saw a new Porsche GT2 or GT3 (Could not tell, it was at a distance, but the wing and quad-style headlights were the tipoff)

Not so much an interesting vehicle, but...

In Las Vegas three weeks ago I saw a Guam license plate. First one I've ever seen - I'm 50 years old and a plate-watcher. That's understandable. I live in the Midwest, there are relatively few Guam plates, period, due to its fairly small population of 160,000, and then there's the fact that it's 7000 miles from CONUS. It's rather costly to ship a vehicle stateside.

But here's what was so odd about it. The vehicle was a small pickup (Isuzu, I think) and I'd guess it was 25 years old or so - and it showed its age. I can't imagine it's worth even as much as the low-end cost of shipping a vehicle from Guam to the West Coast (a quick search shows a price range between $3000 and $7000). I can see spending the money to keep a high-end car, or maybe some sort of treasured heirloom. But a beat-up old truck?

Weird.

This morning I saw an Acura Legend, from the 90's I guess, that had apparently experienced a tie-rod separation, there was a skid mark on the road that went over to the breakdown lane, where the car was sitting, with the driver's side front wheel toed out all the way. This particular part of the road is short and people rarely exceed the 40 MPH speed limit, so I would guess he was going 40 or less when this happened. Still, good driving on his (her?) part, to get the car over into the breakdown lane. Although, maybe the tire was just skidding and was not pulling the car into the opposite lane, which it might have done if it didn't toe out so extremely.

Pictures or it didn't happen. I saw a Sunbeam Alpine Tiger today. See, it wasn't too hard.

I honestly can't say I'd buy one if I had the money for one, but they are one of the few "modern" cars that are accruing value. I'd be curious to see pix of it, and of the house. I'm always curious how people who can drop 1/4 a mil on a car live, lol!

I don’t know about the house we just moved in not so long back and madam is doing all sorts of things to it that I neither care or understand... houses are where you sleep but the garage is where I live

I might do a thread and post some of the cars of my weird collection. I will say that it’s heavy towards Broughamness that’s worth nothing rather then Muscle or track cars. Not many people appreciate the beauty of a 1977 Mercury Grand Marquisexcept me .. unfortunately

It was probably military personnel who had just transferred back. Shipping one car is free. I had a friend years ago who had Guam plates here in MA after separating from the Navy.
