These are compact trucks, something USA no longer has available.

sorry, no HS internet (Pay-per-byte rural dweller)

What do they compare? Gas Only? or did they include the Diesel LUV, Ranger, Mitsu (they were available in mid -80s definitely not coming back to America !)

50 mpg VW Diesel compact pickup ceased USA production (PA) in 1983. Then shifted to South America and eventually South Africa sustaining production through the 1990's. (I still haul 1000# frequently, or tow my 2,000 GVW 'snowbear' with my $300 VW diesel pickup. (tho it is far from my favorite pickup, too tight of cab to nap! NOISY at highway speed, but 50 mpg on free fuel it is worthy of keeping) http://www.city-data.com/forum/membe...0-caddy-rf.jpg

Gas only. Chevy S10, Isuzu Pup, Ford Ranger, Mazda S2000, and Nissan. Best all around was the Ranger followed by the Mazda, Nissan, Chevy, and last Isuzu.

thx! I wonder if they got it right? Possibly YES! (for that time)

Surprised there was not a Toyota on the list. Not sure when the hilux was dropped in USA (for the T100?). The 1970's '4eyed' Hilux were popular and tough. The side hooks along bed were quite handy!
