Max no. You'll get bulging on the tires and uneven wear.
I keep mine at 40-42. Manufacturer states 35.

On the cars I've had I always keep it in the 32 to 36 psi range.

Actually, I began to see this more as an oppty to set them correctly later in the day, or ideally the next morning.

By no means should anyone with 'ASE' embroidered into their tech uniform be sending you back on the road with 44 or 51psi on your tires, but if in their shoes, I'd set the pressures about 2psi above door frame sticker, to account for time of day and not knowing how far the customer drove to get to my premises.

IE, for a BMW, or other car with front-rear pressure difference, say, F:30, R:34, I'm set the tires to F:32, R:36.

By next day, they should be quite close to those recommended figures.
