A quick aside, they also became hard to find parts for. Specifically those little bits like trim and switches. The local major Ford dealer had a standing order with the local wrecking yard that they'd buy any used headlight switches. Seems availability was spotty at best, just a year or two after production stopped.
I'm pretty sure the guy who fed you that line of bull is still laughing about it.
I mean, they look soooo old now, and it's just a few years since they went out of production. I loved everything about them but now I am not sure I want to be seen in one. I wonder if Ford could have kept it and updated it. It didn't have to be doomed.
But Town Cars just scream limo. I am almost picturing myself holding up a sign. Do they still make it? Now that goes against everything people have said here about the "inevitability"
SUV and Vans are almost the same. They're both station wagons. I only used the term "soccer mom van" because that's what they drive where I live now. It's either soccer moms or cops.
When I think of the Crown Vic, I can't get past my association with seeing one with flashing lights in my rear view mirror....
Connecticut State Police still have a BUNCH of them. At least a few hundred of them. My buddy is a state trooper and I drove by Troop H in Hartford and 75% were Crown Vic's. I saw 4 today in like 30 mins. I think you'd know that too. We need to look out for Taurus's as well . Does the barracks in Fairfield County use them a lot still or is it mostly Taurus's now? Here in Hartford it's different.

Yup, people say that they don't drive station wagons but when you think about it many of these SUV's and Crossover's are just that.
By the way not sure how many people know this. An SUV and a Crossover are not the same thing.

I rarely see a trooper down here since I drive on local roads most of the time. But when I do, they seem to b the brown Crown Vics. I have also seen other unusual cars that turned out to the state police, like Dodge Chargers.
