I've look them up when looking at tires which we need for our Forester now. And the price seem good until you add in delivery and taxes and of course the cot of installing them. Our Outback is going to need them before winter sits in a well and by the time we pay the above mentioned costs it seems like we might a well buy from a dealer.
Any other options?
A company here in Maryland and I saw them all so in Jacksonville and Fayetteville NC so check your area.
Mr Tire.
Just got 4 (full set)Yokohama's 19in 65,000 mi tread for a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe ,a full alignment and hazard warranty on all tires ,taxes ,fees all of it for $800....it was buy three get one free.Best price I could find anywhere.
Yes but the prices are not that competitive anymore. They do have more varieties and you have more choice than local tire dealers. Works out real well just have them delivered to your local tire store and setup an appointment for installation.
For my wife's Outback we're look at the Continental Extreme contact DWS 06. They have good what we're looking for and for the way we both drive they would fit perfectly. I have ran across anything that comes close in my research.
Tire Rack wants $530.00 for the tires again that's not counting taxes and install. Discount Tire wants $731 I believe it was. I'm looking at maybe $50.00 in difference by the time everything said and done with Tire Rack.
The only way I see saving money with them to be honest is picking up the tires at one of their locations.
I'd save about $200.00 excluding the cost of gas.
Wrong to assume.
The worst customer service experience I had in my life. The place they recommended on their website had awful reviews online. I wish I researched first. I reported them to Tire Rack but I doubt they did anything. They never got back to me when I told them on my buying experience survey that I was knocking off points due to the installer's incompetence.
I could not find any of the local shops in Alaska to match the price of TR for a set of wheels and tires (mounted, spin-balanced). Even with the nearly $400.00 for shipping to Alaska I still saved over $600.00. The tires were Blizzak winter for a 2010 Rav4 V6. The aluminum alloy wheels cost around $65.00 each, and the four TPM sensors around $170.00 for four of them.
The local shops wanted $125.00 for each sensor alone:
These tires and wheels, TPM

I think the poster meant picking them up at a Tire Rack location in order to save on the shipping.
I use to use Tire Rack when I lived close to one of their warehouses, but now I'm so far away that the shipping price is a huge nope, not even competitive.
