Doing my first major build of a car. It's a 1987 Nissan 300zx turbo. Has coilovers, big lightweight brakes, built engine, everything's been powder coated. About half way through the tube front. Just waiting on jd2 to make me a 1 inch die for my bender so I can finish it up. It will get a roll bar (half cage) custom intake manifold, and custom intercooler piping (fully welded with alphalocs, no silicone couplers) wire tuck, custom catch can, over flow, and swirl pot. No expense spared kind of build. He has more money in AN fittings for this thing than the car is worth. Great customer to work with. Knows exactly what he wants and isn't afraid to pay for it.

Nice. Is that engine painted purple or is that just my imagination?

Valve covers are purple powder coat. Block and head are aluminum paint. Timing cover is black powder coat. Exhaust manifolds and turbo are grey ceramic coated.

Why did you remove the framework in front? That is done on rear drive drag cars to save weight I guess the same here.

The main reason is to make more room for everything going into the bay. We're stuffing a massive intercooler and radiator in there along with ducting to direct air into them. An oil cooler. Twin catch cans. A swirl pot. A custom overflow. And a few other things. The factory front end is pretty restricting and determines the angle of the radiator and intercooler. With this set up we can run better angles and ducting for them.
The secondary reason is weight savings.
The third reason is it looks awesome.

Cool. Just fyi, you have what looks like some personal information on that photobucket. Might want to make a separate album for just your car pics if your gonna share them.
