I agree! The new Lexus are so ugly! I prefer the look of a Toyota instead. Infiniti looks ok but maybe a tad boring and Acura is like the ghetto luxury brand.

This would come in handy in really cold temps. People with cover their grilles up with cardboard up here... Nights are often below zero and it helps.

I'm sorry but you are 100% wrong. If Government standards were driving this hideous trend then EVERY car would sport these monstrosities. They are designed to call attention to the car, nothing more, nothing less.

Here's the GT 350 without it's big fake grille.

I think I like the Genesis, Pexus, and Audi without the fake grill better!

In 2015 I was in the market for a new car. The Toyota Corolla was going to be on my short list until I saw that huge fake grill.

Every new car I've seen has that look. Ugh. I like beautiful design.

Most of the grills aren't fully open. If you get up close to come, you may notice the actual openings passing through to the radiator are not covering the entire area that you would assume is the grill. Ford focus is one that comes to mind that has a smaller grill opening than actual stylized grill area.
