So true i lived in Clearwater Florida for 6 years before returning to Michigan, US 19 in the Tampa Bay Area is one dangerous highway. I’ve never seen so many accidents and idiot drivers than I’ve seen in Florida. It’s because you have people from cities that had great public transportation so they never needed to drive. And then you have people from all over the world visiting there also, I’ve seen allot of people from England in the Clearwater area, and then to top it off you have the snowbirds from the north and Canada. Florida has no mass transit and the way they mark their roads is stupid. I’m so happy i came back home to Michigan oh and in Florida you have roundabout’s everywhere and speed bumps as well, and 5min stop lights, and red light cameras also.like the old saying is about Florida come on vacation leave on probation. Just watch that tv show cops you will see Florida on there all the time.

I-4 is definitely horrendous. Never seen so many nasty wrecks when I used to live in Orlando and drive between Orlando and Tampa regularly.

Agree about I45 around Houston at least...so thankful a realtor advised me that wouldn't be the better commute of the two I was considering. Seemingly always wrecks, the dozen or so times I've been on it.

I-95 makes sense since it connects the entire east coast. I drive it all the time and the experience isn't too bad south of Richmond. B/W Richmond-DC, and DC-Boston, though, is a snake pit.

I agree with the poster above about Florida. I was working in FL for a few months and it's like the wild west down there. I basically saw every bad driving habit multiple times a day and it made me anxious to get behind the wheel.

*No turn signals EVER. A guy will weave across 4 lanes of traffic and slam on the brakes in front of you to make a turn.
*Red light runners
*Ridiculously slow drivers or homicidal speed racers
*Drifters who can't stay in their lane, almost sideswiping you.
*Light just turns green and people 4 cars back begin honking for you to go.
*When you're yielding on green to make a left turn, the guy waiting behind you swings around and cuts you off for the turn because you were apparently taking too long for him.
* People pulling out into traffic at 5 mph without looking.
* Many POS cars on the road since there is no state inspection.

Having a hard time believing the Seward Highway, AK 1 along Turnagain Arm, isn't on the list. Oh wait, maybe Alaska isn't part of America

California state highway 299. Fast drivers, curves ahead signs posted frequently, boulders in the road, falling rocks. Never again. Beautiful drive, though as it connect Northern California east to west.

Chicago native here, now living in Tampa. Drivers here are awful, and it's not the retirees.

People drive like they're auditioning for NASCAR, the right lane is the preferred passing lane, and apparently in the Miami area nobody uses turn signals because you'll get cut off. I guess that's why my insurance went up so much?
