I must be getting old. When I was a kid and selling a car, you would have to cut the price because the car was kind of beat up. I was looking at some ads and it looked like they were charging extra for the "patina". Man, some of the cars I sold were dropping little bits of patina in the street when they were driving away.

It's a thing on classic cars. Not on regular cars.
Survivors also get respect as classic cars. A car is only original once.
