Snapped this on the ride in this morning. Kinda neat to see 2 different renditions of the muscle car. The old Camaro was done up in my dreaded "Year-One" style, the Charger was a stock SRT-8 (425 hp). Wouldve loved to see them race, but traffic was too heavy and with a 30mph speed limit, they wouldnt have gotten far anyways.

What do you prefer?

Thanks. It was a crappy point-and-shoot effort, but hey! Whats not shown in the picture was a AMG S55 that was next to me, a GMC Typhoon that was in front of him, and a Honda CBR600RR that was in front of me. Had there been a stretch of open road, that woulda been a HELL of a race to witness! Imagine all those going at it at the same time?

Call me old school if you want but muscle cars were never meant to have 4 doors. You don't cruise anywhere with your kids, in their car seats, strapped in the back.

I like Nomads and would trade my wife for an all original FI Sedan Delivery but are they really muscle cars? I'm wracking my 62 yr old brain trying to think of a Nomad that had a big block. I've always considered that the watermark. I've owned five 62-67 Chevy IIs and a 68 Z28 Camaro. The only one, in my mind, that would qualify was the 63 427cu in, altered wheelbase, fuel burner. That obviously wasn't factory. Like I said I'm real old school.

I remember 1955, 56, and 57 Chevy Nomads, I believe the largest engine that came in them stock was a 265ci V8 engine, although some of us old hot rodders had a tendency to drop either 327ci., 396ci. and sometimes even a 454ci. in them.

I prefer old school muscle because at least then they had every good styling as muscle cars didn't look anything like imports of the time unlike now.

But I will hand it to the new school performance is much better in the performance department thanks to fuel injection, 4 wheel anti lock disc brakes and improved suspension geometry. Just the looks aren't what they used to be.
