as prices going up and up without end, what price would it take to make you stop driving all together?

Unless I plan on curling up in a ball and dying I am going to have to drive once in a while. There is no subway here, and the bus does not go where I work.

maybe 10-11 a gallon (now I pay 8.6 a gallon). Would keep the car as Huck said.

Since I have to work to pay bills and there isn't a public transportation system that runs to where my husband works and doesn't run the hours I need it too, I probably won't be able to ever stop driving, no matter how high the prices get.

Nothing really. I would just use a motorcycle or scooter.

No public transportation that would haul around my tools and Materials, so I can't stop driving if I want to eat. Plus there is no public transportation where I live anyway.

Like Bydand, I haul tools for my trade; lawnmower, weedwhachers, etc. I have to have a truck for that. If I do not work, I cannot pay my bills and thus cannot eat. When the price goes up significantly, I raise my rates to accommodate it and if a client does not accept the rate increase, there is always another one waiting in line.
