Genepax of (Osaka, Japan?) claims to have developed an automobile which is powered by nothing other than water. The following a video of the vehicle in action from Reuters: H2O Water Powered Car (Reuters)
This is Genepax's web site:
Conversion of a glass of water into earth saving energy. - GENEPAX CO.,LTD (http://www.genepax.co.jp/en/ - broken link)
Thank you. However in looking over various previous posts on this topic, it seems no one really knows the particulars. Only speculation.
There also appeared some confusion about the type of water such a vehicle could use. According to Reuters this vehicle could run on any type of water, including salt water.
My understanding that water holds a vast amount of potential energy within it. The only problem in how to successfully tap into it. To date it appears every technology tried uses as much or more energy as that derived to extract it.
There has been a LOT of speculation on this subject, both here, and on other forums.
I don't pretend to have a definitive answer, but I do have a question:
Just about all these schemes with water involve breaking down the water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen. When this product gas (HHO) is burned, it doesn't just "burn", but if you have ever witnessed it, it EXPLODES very violently, like right now! However, virtually all gasoline engines require a controlled burn, not an explosion, to derive their HP output. How does burning hydrogen overcome this problem? (extremely poor "octane" rating) It's not like you can just add lead to hydrogen...
Throughout history, when gas prices have risen, scam artists have miraculously invented the "water burning" car.
Without even visitng the website, I can tell you it is a 100% hoax. An elementary understanding in thermodynamics is all one would need to immediately spot this hoax.
And for the record, another hoax that you are bound to find in times of high energy prices is the amazing magnet powered car...
You people might want to actually look at the website before leaping to conclusions. The process is entirely electrochemical and does not involve combustion. It's a process that has been theoretically known for a while now. Additionally, they're not actually trying to sell anything to anyone; they freely admit it's far from production-ready and don't claim it will be any time soon.
Let me guess...They need investors to furhter refine this amazing machine!!!
This is a perpetual motion scam. Water in-water out. Complete hoax. Don't waste your time with this BS.
