I've got the Meguiar's Quik Mist & Wipe Detailer for lubrication.

Where does clay bar fit in the following sequence?
Wash
Rinse
Dry by hand
Meguiar's Paint Cleaner
Meguiar's Polish
Mother's Pure Carnauba Wax
Before the Paint Cleaner or after? Thanks!!

I would put it before the paint cleaner, because oftentimes the paint cleaner isn't necessary. And carnuba wax, I didn't realize people still used that! There are so many awesome synthetic waxes out there these days that (IMO) work better and are easier to use.

What would you recommend for wax?

What should I get to clean the exterior of a car that is going to get repainted next spring/summer? Or should I do nothing at all?

Are we talking a show car or a grocery getter? I'm not a painter but I think they just sand off the old paint anyways.

Well,my dad used touch-up paint on the car without my knowledge and now,the touch-up paint is noticeable on the car,so I don't know what would be the best option for me except for getting it repainted? Yes,it is a grocery getter, but I do want to take good care of it! In addition,I do believe that if I start taking good care of a grocery getter, then when I get a better car, then I would already develop a habit of taking care of the new car since I want to get the "mentality"!

Ok I gotcha. I wouldn't think you would need to do anything to prep it for the painters though. Personnally I think I would take a break and let it go right before paint time.

Clay bar only about 1/2 hour... It's a great step to use after washing and before applying wax.

As mentioned above, be sure to use lubrication. Also, don't use it on a hot or warm surface, especially the hood or your will leave residue and the lube drys up too quickly.

Clay bar frequency depends on how much you leave the car exposed to the elements. If you leave the car parked outside a lot, clay bar every six months. I clay bar once a year with Clay Magic. It works great and you can see the dirt stuck on the clay. Use plenty of lube and always wear protection...lol
