Yes, my neice has the base model the first year they leap-frogged the cavalier and no problems to date, with over 30 mpg it's a solid well made compact.
I would go for the Cobalt. I'm not a fan of small cars, but i've owned a Cavalier and a Sunfire in the past and never had a problem. I've heard nothing good about the PT Cruiser, Hyundai/Kia's are ugly, and the Aveo is ugly, too small, and made in Korea.
Another reason i would pick the Cobalt is because it's made 20 minutes down the road from me. I've been to the plant, know a ton of people that work for GM and their suppliers in Lordstown, Ohio. Also, that plant is our area's biggest employer and if GM goes down we are totally screwed (more than we already are, if you know anything about the Youngstown area).
I also would pick a G5 over the Cobalt; they're basically the same car, but i like the styling on the G5 a little better. Actually, could i wait for the new Chevy Cruze????
If you had to select one of these vehicles to purchase and no others unlisted were an option, which would you decide on?
The HHR would be my first choice, Steve . . . but since it is not an option, The Cobalt.
