They did very similar tire set-ups at the dawn of the automotive industry. At the time they did steel bands wound around a central hub and attached to another ring that had rubber mounted to it for the actual "tire" portion.

That came out about five years ago. When they make them for aircraft, they'll put them out for us to buy. Give it seven more years. They're going to be extremely expensive at first and then regular tire prices will drop after the market is saturated with tweels.
