Thanks for posting your feedback on that site! It seems like you are correct with your answer.

The person that uploaded the photo on dustyfoto received an automatic email notifying him/her that someone (you) submitted a response to their photo. If that solves the photo "mystery", then they will be able to click "Solved" next to your comment (only the uploader can see the solved button).

I think you also will get an email notice saying that the person approved your comment and "closed the case".

It's all in beta stage right now...just developed the site about a month ago. Hope more people find the site useful. The discussion in this thread is exactly what I hope dustyfoto achieves--a bunch of historians/buffs discussing a photo and trying to solve the photo mystery.

I've been trying to figure it out. It's clearly from the late '20s, when open four-doors went out of fashion and hardtop saloons became more prevalent. But I can't identify the marque. The waterfall grille is very distinctive and I can't find a match for it.
