Sorry, but you made a divisive comment that didn't add to the conversation.

You ought to be sorry. Your posted link:

lends nothing to the thread. We could care less about your frugal spending....and that was not asked. The question was how many cars we need or own...If you decide to stick with one car..so be it. Your loss. Life is to short to be a tightwad.

You really are careless with your hard earned money. Oh, wait! Maybe you don't have to earn it........just spend it!

I have a BIL that we nicknamed "tightwad". He has NEVER bought a car in his life and is over 40. He has a company car and then tries to dictate to my sis what kind of car SHE can buy with HER money that she makes from teaching. Then because he can't use a company car for pleasure he uses hers. Needless to say we also have ANOTHER name for him . He squeeks when he walks and has to be the most unhappiest person around. Constantly says that when someone spends THEIR OWN MONEY on something they want for their own enjoyment he always makes a comment about it being an "unwise financial decision". This coming from a man that sees no need to have a will or any other things to protect his family if something should happen to him. Maybe this IS my BIL Cause he sure can't stand that we have as many cars as we do. LOL!!!

Life is too short to worry about what OTHER PEOPLE spend THEIR OWN MONEY on. I'm spending mine on what makes OUR FAMILY happy and our family is well taken care of and protected.

I have 3 and none of them get great gas mileage and b/c my daily driver is an SUV that basically meets all my needs I could easily eliminate the other two.

Someone nailed it with the "what good is me having the $$ in the bank to sit/spend it on something you like/live life to the fullest/you never know when your last day will be".

If you want my honest truth, cars to me are like handbags and shoes to women. You guys might sit there and scratch your heads wondering "why do women have more than 2 pairs of shoes or more than 10 hand bags". Just like some have to wonder why someone would need more than 1 or 2 cars.

Now I know I said 3 in my original post, but if I had it my way, I'd have every muscle car built from 66 to 72...then I'd have a few of the "non muscle car" years...i.e. a 77 black/gold Trans AM (aka "Bandit"), an 87 GNX and an 89 Turbo Trans AM....maybe even a 91-93 GMC Syclone or an LS1 all black F body with a 6 speed....then I'd have me a few lifted mud tired off road 4X4 older Chevy trucks...then I'd have me an old Ford "beater" truck that I could use to tear up when i wanted to drive aggressive or run over empty garbage cans left in the streets on garbage day. Plus the garage to house them all.

So no I don't need them but it would be nice to have them....for no other reason but to have them.
