ouch! so sorry. i had hoped for YEARS that it would go the OTHER way (we would get the Falcon, possibly rebadged as a Taurus).

FWIW, the Taurus is a nice car and a real step in the right direction for Ford. but i'll take a RWD with the TT inline 6 anyday even over the SHO anyday.

Mike

Might do abit of reading up on the Taurus then. I don't know much about it?

I would also prefered it to be the other way round? However, I don't think there's much that can be done about it! Ford have changed their focus and at some point in the future, I think a FWD Falcon was always going to happen?

It's just abit sad to hear about this sort of change.

No I think they got that news story all wrong.

Basically only one large car RWD platform is going to be developed. For years you've had Australia doing their own Falcon platform and the USA doing theirs with the panther and DEW98 platform. Doesn't make any sense.

So what is happening is only one platform will be developed for the whole world and one that can be used in the new mustang in a few years as well as for a large RWD car. It's possible that Ford Australia will play a big role in that development as did Holden for the new Camaro.

Nothing to panic about and the current Falcon will be around for 5 years yet.

Hey, no Aussie Falcon today, no Millenium Falcon tomorrow.

High performance technology does not come out of thin air, it has to be developed over time.

Ford needs to take care of their karma as well as the bottom line IMHO.
