that due to the objection of religious groups, the Dodge Demon name was changed to Dart Sport for the 1973 model year?

I never knew that I thought they killed the demon because of the lower HP and death of muscle cars in the early to mid 70's

I have a Motor Trend test of one.
A 340-4 bbl and 3.91 gears. Ran 6.5 second 0-60 mph and 14.45 second 1/4 mile. They were pretty nice; not a lot of weight so they moved quite well.

International Harvester built a tractor called a 666. A car called Demon would not scare me.

If they got all upset about THAT, then I wonder what they would think about me naming my grandmother's cat "Satan" when we got him?

If I'm not mistaken, the Dodge Demon was the twin of the Plymouth Duster. While they offered a semi-hot version of both cars with the 340 motor....I think the vast majority had slant 6-bangers or a 318 V-8.
