Just when you think you are having a bad day at work, just imagine being on the team responsible for the 787.

This is not an isolated incident. Boeing 787 has suffered problems in other countries also.
Boeing 787 Dreamliner - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

My fear is that passengers will slowly start to avoid travelling in those airlines which has 787 and it may hurt airline business. All this news is actually good news for Airbus company.

Boeing CEO whose salary package is 21 million Dollars will get another raise of 30% this year and more Union workers will be fired. This is the way America is being run.

Me too. I actually changed my reservation recently to AVOID flying on the ScreamKiller.

Honestly, I'm thinking there more than meets the eye with the entire airplane. I also think the airplane is a HUGE liability to the company at this rate. What should happen now is cancel the program.

Talk about a company with chronic troubles. Airbus must throw parties when this happens. "Here a few billion more for us!!!"

There is an old saying about, "don't put all your new in the same package." Boeing obviously did this with the 787. I hope their electrical engineers as well as the battery suppliers are working lots of overtime figuring this out. The aircraft is, IMHO, the future of airline design and structure and needs to be perfected not abandoned.

A 5% drop in stock price does not a disaster but just an other manipulation by the speculators.

In all fairness, this fire does not appear to be battery-related. It had better no be an electrical malfunction, though...
