Has anyone noticed how uncharacteristically quiet the US has been in all this? We have seen Chinese, French and even Thai satellite pictures but not a single American satellite pic. You know, the kind that could read license plates from space. In 1965. In fact, US government does not seem to be that interested in solving this puzzle. A ship or a plane here and there but nothing massive. May be they already know the answer.

The US is on the way with a ping detector. Compliments of the Navy. Really?
I wonder if the fire people claim they saw was an engine fire and the plane just flew on one engine for the remaining time. That is the only thing on a plane that could be on fire an it continues to fly for 5+ hrs, but still wouldnt explain why neither of the pilots would radio it to ATC to try to return or land somewhere.

Yes! It is very strange. You would think they'd be pushing to lead the investigation. Even if it's a normal crash, a plane with several hundred passengers has vanished without a trace. That's a big deal. I read that as they have no reason to believe it's terrorism, or something else is going on, as in they just don't know what happened anymore than anyone else. I'm more inclined to believe the US government has no reason to suspect terrorism at this time. Therefore, there is no need to put more effort into the investigation than is necessary. With that said, the US government has an interest in not revealing their radar and satellite capabilities when helping in all of this.
