Damn. I was going to mention Blue Max but did not want to bias any opinions.

Tongue in check your answer may be. I hear from ex-submariners that Up Periscope caught the eccentric personalities aboard a submarine to the tee.

"The Blue Max" was a good movie (and book, too), but I sure hope that you're not waiting to hear from any Fokker D7 or Sopwith Camel pilots.

N'yuk, n'yuk, n'yuk. OWW!!!

"The Pilot" with Cliff Robertson 1979. Cliff Robertson was a pilot in real life and the movie is as close as a movie can get IMO.

I thought the "Wayfairer 515" air traffic control scene in Breaking Bad was really good. Speaking from the the pilot side of things, I thought the phraseology was accurate. As I'm not a controller, I can't comment on how well the Alburqurqe Center was depicted in the episode.

Saw this flick once.
Mayday at 40,000 Feet! (TV Movie 1976) - IMDb

Don't remember too much of it but at one point, one of the flight crew has to manually lower the main gear, one at a time. The guy at the controls, I think it was Christopher George, is struggling like hell due to the drag of one side being down and the other not.

They're making a US Airways 1501 film. Clint Eastwood is directing and Tom Hanks is in it.
