That is one heck of a big basket to carry all your eggs in.

I flew on TAM's A-350, amazing bird. Can't wait to see the 1000 version in person. How will it stack up with the 787-10?

Sadly 90% of the US will not fly on one of these unless they are going to be on a expensive long haul international flight.

That's the entire point. It's more efficient to have a single wide-body flying from point A to point B than it is to have 20 Gulfstreams flying the route. And before the inevitable 'Yeah, but if one goes down then hundreds die!' observation... so? If you fly X times more flights, then you'll just get X times as many aircraft that go down. It's just math - 1 x 300 is not worse than 20 x 15.

And besides the math, given that more flights equals more crowded airspace, more crowded runways, stretching resources thinner (delving deeper into the pilot pool, the maintenance pool, etc.) more smaller flights probably means more fatalities in the long run due to crashes over simply flying in large airliners.

Nice airplane but I am pretty sure, airlines will find ways to make it too dense, crampy and uncomfortable again. As they did with the 787 or 777 in Economy... 3-3-3 config in the 787 or 3-4-3 in the 777 is just too horrible. This is why I prefer Airbus 330/340 or Boeing 767 on longhaul economy.

Error!

If you fly X times more flights, then you'll get Y times as many aircraft that go down.

X>Y

Is the 787-10 a competitor to the a350-1000 or is it 777?
