I didn't realize Carl Ichan was still alive. If there were justice in the world, he'd be in prison right now as punishment for crushing the hopes and dreams and livelihoods of thousands of people at TWA. If I were Jet Blue management, I'd do anything, even to the point of liquidating the airline and doling out the proceeds to the unemployed workers, rather than let Ichan get his filthy hands on it.

If there is any justice in this universe Carl Icahn and Frank Lorenzo will spend eternity suffering in Hades for what they did to TWA and Eastern Airlines respectively.

Completely agree. As long as Charlie Bryan (the head of Eastern's machinist union) is their roommate.
Mr. Charlie Bryan (may God rest his soul) was a complicated man. When it came to Eastern Airlines he truly believed was fighting a good fight for loyal union members.
Sadly when doing battle was Satan (Frank Lorenzo) you're damned no matter what you do.

Recall that Eastern was based in Miami. I grew up in South Florida, where Eastern's travails were in the papers and on the newscasts nearly every day. My lifelong hatred of unions came from watching what Charles Bryan did to deliberately destroy that once-great airline. To be sure, Frank Lorenzo was busy destroying it just as gleefully, even as the two men fought each other constantly. The analogy I would make is one of those Japanese monster movies, where two giant creatures are ferociously battling against each other while at the same time jointly stomping Tokyo into rubble.
