I need to drive from Northern Virginia to an appointment in Baltimore (Reisterstown Road) tomorrow. My appointment is at 8am. I plan to take I-95 north to I-695 west. How bad is the rush hour traffic on these two routes, in the directions i'm traveling, and how long do you think i should allow for this trip? many thanks for your advice.

Hi there,

I've been doing some driving from NoVa up to Baltimore for interviews, however a bit later in the AM. I drove up to Owings Mills from Arlington, VA and left 2 hours in advance (it was an interview, so I didn't want to be late) It took me about an hour and 20 mins or so to get up there. 8 AM is pretty early in the morning, so it may not be quite so bad. Without knowing much about Reisterstown Rd, I would allow at least an an hour and a half.

I would...
What part of NOVA are you coming from? If you're out 66, maybe come through Point-of-Rocks into Frederick, then I-70 to some of the side streets (Marriottsville Rd)

thanks -- i'll be driving from arlington, so will probably just take 395N to new york ave, then onto I-95 (or the parkway, depending on traffic reports), then to 695.

You sure it wasn't 795? 895 leads from south of Baltimore straight through the Harbor Tunnel to NE Baltimore with no exits.

Yup, you're correct, 795. So many route numbers I can't keep them straight.
