As of October they had sold 41 of the homes, and they also just started another phase at Athena Square across the street.

They also just started naming the tenants for the new shopping center at Canton Crossing.

Default Good Thread!

I am with some of the other posters..... I would buy in Greektown, save yourself 100K and live in a charming, comfortable rowhome. I like Greektown- we go to Zorbas, Samos, Ikaros and the Greek festival every year. I have never lived there- but some of the other people on the thread have and confirmed what I had always suspected- Greektown is undervalued.

Have you looked at the Bayview neighborhood- next to the hospital? I knew a teacher that lived over there and loved it- bought a house for 60,000, low mortage, quiet neighborhood. Probably could rent it easily to JH employees. If you love new construction- then go for Athena Square. But if you are looking for a deal- I remember when homes in Brewers Hill and Canton were selling for $10,000- then you are going to have to take a risk. I think a good gamble would be Bayview or Greektown.

I agree completely, and sort of wish I had bought there.

68 sold so far, just approved for 185 more to bring the total over 300.

Greektown project wins OK for 185 more townhomes - Baltimore Business Journal

The new shopping center is humming along, and new 57-unit building just broke ground close to their behind Du Burns Arena. Brining the total to about 965 housing units and an apartment complex currently in progress in the small area.

I have noticed that the cheaper properties over there are on market less than a week.... anything less than $80,000 gets snapped up quick.
