Which place is this? And it would be an issue because crime in Baltimore is not under any control by any means.

Let's see...they're having the World Cup next yr and the 2016 Olympics in Brazil (more dangerous than Baltimore). The last World Cup in 2010 was in South Africa (again, way more dangerous than Baltimore).

The Olympics generally costs money to the host, and has left lots of useless, decaying architecture soon after. With Baltimore's corruption problems expect all the negatives to be times ten. No thanks.

Wish we actually had a say in this emmiesix, but the Grand Prix is a perfect example! If they want to host it, it will happen regardless of the cost or public outcry.

I do think that it put Atlanta on the map, though.

The taxpayers end up paying the bill and suffer throught the crowds and increased traffic congestion, but only a small number of businesses reap the benefit, such as hotels and restaurants. Whatever filters back down to the taxpayers wallet is only a small percentage of what they have paid out. Does anyone believe taxes will go down because so much business would come in for a short time? In Maryland? We have a lot of marshland(swamps) that you can buy over here on the eastern shore. Maybe we can find some takers for that as well.

Looks like DC will run the show instead of joint interest

With an event like that, prime vending locations
would go to the heavy hitters and everybody else
(99%) would have to play hunger games for what
is left.
