Pratt, the current comptroller, hasn't had a challenger in nearly 20 years. Pugh, who is the most likely the next mayor also owns a business with Pratt. Is there a potential for a conflict of interest there? The Comptroller is supposed to be a check and balance to the power of the mayor. Shockingly, there hasn't been a complete audit of the housing authority in years, even with all of the complaints residents have submitted recently, and there hasn't even been a comprehensive, city wide audit in nearly 20 years. How many of Baltimore's problems relate back to finances and accountability of how that money is spent? If you think that's important, make sure you inform yourself of the comptroller race:
