My wife and I have recently rekindled a love of pinball. The problem is that we've only found two working machines in Bangor (both are at the Bangor Mall Cinema 10).

We've tried the Sports Arena (neat arcade and nice facility, but oddly lacking pinball), as well as the roller rink off of 95 at Hogan Rd (they had a machine, but it was powered off and reportedly not working).

Being that we live 30 minutes away from Bangor (Bucksport), we'd like to use our time up there as efficiently as possible.

Does anyone know of any other pinball machines in the Bangor area?

No, sorry. I used to love pinball but with time and money being in the situation that they are currently, I don't go anywhere where they might have a machine.

You might want to try to buy one???? Just an idea since they aren't really used anymore. Seem to run between $3,000 and $5,000 used. You could probably get a better price if you could find one locally. I can't even imagine trying to get parts to repair one of them.

You live in Bucksport...20 miles to Ellsworth....Call Jordan's Snack Bar in Ellsworth and ask them how many pinball machines they have in their game room. (207) 667-2174. They'll be closing for the season in October, but you might get in a few weeks of play.

Thanks for the suggestion, we'll definitely call them up!

As for owning a pinball machine, I don't know if we'd be able to fit one into our second floor apartment. I disagree that they're out of use, though, they're pretty popular in arcades elsewhere in the country.

Yeah, I see your point. Also a good way to get yourself evicted. I'm pretty sure the old ones didn't have a volume button on them. Putting them right up against the wall was a good way to decrease the chance of "tilting" them, but off course that's noisy too.

I can't help you with the Bangor area, but if you ever make it to Baltimore, check out the National Pinball Museum. It opened in the Georgetown area of Washington, D.C., a couple of years ago, but they lost their lease and relocated to Baltimore earlier this year. Lots of cool games available for play.

Sounds amazing! My wife is from New Jersey and we're looking forward to visiting her folks on account of The Silverball Museum being nearby.

Silverball Museum looks great. Maybe a bit larger than the one here.
