Can anyone remember this old place in Bangor?

The center of town..........

Ok ok........Another Bangor.

I remember taking my parents from Maine over here to Bangor, CA. once and my dad got talking to the owner. He had heard of Bangor, ME from other patrons over the years. They all did the same thing as us and take pictures of the only store in town and go over to the post office too. I wonder how many other Bangor's there are?

That is really neat, thanks for sharing! there are a lot of towns in Maine that have "kin" in other places... I was thinking it would be fun to document them all...

Default Bangor, south

Bangor, Pennsylvania.

Thought it was against the law to photograph federal buildings such as post offices?

Default photos

Looked around and found this quote from what seemed to be a mainstream site.

"Meanwhile, a lot of spin fills the void of photographers' ignorance of their rights. It's easy to understand why certain parts of Department of Defense facilities are off-limits, but that reasonable rule swelled into an unwritten photo ban on all federal buildings.
“This is one of the biggest myths with the law of taking photographs,” explains Bert Krages, a Portland, OR-based copyright attorney who has written books on photographers' rights and techniques. “There is no general prohibition against photographing federal buildings. There are statutes that prohibit photographing areas of military and nuclear facilities. But there are no laws against photographing other federal facilities, other than the right of all property (http://www.popphoto.com/popularphotographyfeatures/2668/the-war-on-photographers-escalating-tension-page3.html# - broken link) owners to restrict activities that take place on their property. A federal office building manager cannot restrict photography when the photographer is situated outside the federal property boundary.”

Seems there is a lot of loose interpretation and a photographer might be seriously questioned.

Do love to photograph old buildings and off the track post offices.

I know it is illegal to take photos of the NJ turnpike, not sure if that rule is for the entire length of 95.

who knew.... ?

Subase Bangor is pronounced differently though.

I was on a boat there for a long time, and got used to that pronunciation. Moving to Maine folks kept correcting my pronunciation for the longest time.
