Clint Frazier started the Yankees 5th with a leadoff double and moved to 3rd on a Gio Urshela fly out, and scored on a Gardner ground out. Semien had a leadoff home run in the 8th, while the Rangers got a single and hit batter in the bottom half with 1 out but a force out and fly out kept them off the board. Default 5-6

Lost 2 of 3 to the Angels, and had their first "home" game postponed since I believe 2018 when the Royals were in Toronto way early in the season when one of the games in that series got postponed when ice fell off the CN tower and punctured a hole in the Rogers Center roof, their first "home" weather delay since 2003, and their first "home" postponement because of weather since it looks like May, 1989 a few months before they moved into SkyDome. After losing 2 of 3 to the Angels they've split the first 2 with the Yankees with the finale on Wednesday before hitting the road to KC for 4 games to end the week.

Boston has won 7 straight after an 0-3 start so they lead the East, and they are 2.5 up as the other 4 teams (Jays, Yankees, Orioles & Rays) all have identical 5-6 records.

Default 7-9

Won 2 of 3 in Dunedin against the Yankees but got tripped up in KC against what so far is looking like a good Royals team losing 3 of 4. This week is a relatively short week with only 5 games schedule (actually 5 games next week 2) with 2 in Boston and then heading back to Florida with 3 games at the Blue Jays house of horrors Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg with off days Monday and Thursday. Elsewhere in the division this week the Yankees went home and got swept by Tampa over the weekend, before heading to the Bronx, the Rays lost 3 of 4 at home to Texas, the Red Sox won 3 of 4 in Minnesota, and then went home and so far have lost 2 of 3 to the White Sox with the finale scheduled for Monday morning, while the Orioles lost 3 of 4 at home to the Mariners, but then went to Arlington and won 2 of 3 against Texas. Boston is in first at 10-6, Rays are 8-8 are 2 back, Jays and Orioles (7-9) are both 3 back tied for 3rd and the Yankees ay 5-10 are last and 4.5 back.

Red Sox stay at home and welcome in the Mariners for 4 games after Toronto leaves, Rays will follow the Jays to KC and play 3 night games at Kaufmann stadium before heading home to play the Jays, Orioles play 2 games in Miami against the Marlins, and than 3 games at home against Oakland over the weekend, while the Yankees play 2 games against the Braves, and than play 4 games in Cleveland to end the weekend.

Default 10-11

Some good news: Not only did they actually win a game, they actually won a series!! at their personal house of horrors known as Tropicana Field, and George Springer should make his official Blue Jays debut, maybe even sometime in the recent upcoming homestand. But unfortunately as one Jays star is returning, another maybe leaving as Hyun Jin Ryu left his Sunday start with an injury. The Red Sox and Mariners split 4 games in a battle of division leaders (though I believe Oakland has knocked Seattle out of the catbird seat after Seattle came in tied), Yankees split 2 games at home against the Braves before winning 3 of 4 in Cleveland, the Rays won 2 of 3 in Kansas City to begin the week, and the Orioles split 2 games in Miami before losing 2 of 3 at home to Oakland, but in the Sunday victory ended Oakland’s season long 13 game winning streak. Boston is in first at 14-9, Tampa at 11-11 is 2.5 back, Toronto is 3 back, Orioles and Yankees are both 4 back at 9-12.

Jays have another 5 game week, this time all at home against NL east teams; first 2 games are against the 2019 World Series Champions Washington Nationals, and the final 3 games are against the 3 time division winners the Atlanta Braves. Yankees have 4 at Baltimore before heading to New York for 3 with the Tigers, Orioles will have the rematch in Oakland next weekend, Rays play the A’s at home for 4 and then the Astros for 3, while the Red Sox play 2 in Queens against the Mets, and they’ll play 4 in Arlington against the Rangers.
