We took 2 out of 3 from Chicago. Now it's 9-2.

I think the Mets started last year something like 11-2 and were rendered irrelevant by July 4, but it's a great start for them none the less. Would like to see playoff baseball back in the Emerald City

I like the M’s, but they have a few problems. Some of their pitching and defense may actually hurt them this season. If they can score 12 runs every game they will be fine, but what are the odds of that happening? I would love to see them win the WS though, because no team in the history of baseball has suffered more than them, since the Red Sox and Cubs won!

Nice win again for the M’s! Marco looks like a teenager doesn’t he?

I think the M's will snap their 6 game losing streak today. So far, the score is 8-0 Mariners. Jay Bruce grand slam, and two more homers from Haniger and Encarnacion.

Funny how this thread died out along with the team.

I attended the Mariners game vs Houston on 4/12 when they were 13-2.

They've since gone 34-63.

Has there ever been a better start followed by a worse collapse? This team could very well finish with 100 losses which would require them losing 35 of their final 50 games.

Very doable. At any rate, I'll be saving my money. If I want to watch live AAA baseball I'll drive to Tacoma and watch the Rainiers.

The season, and an era, is over. The Felix era is over.

Interestingly, the A's beat Felix in his last start, which is a rare thing, because King Felix regularly beat the A's like a drum over his career. Well, I'm glad that Oakland made the playoffs this year.

Hats off to a formidable opponent.

Long suffering Mariners fan here. It's kind of an ironically fitting end to a shocking season. I figured Seattle would finally be in the playoffs. I figured Felix might have finally gotten his good send off. Instead, they go 68-94 and finish last in the AL West. Felix gets beaten like a drum by the team he beat like a drum. All this, after starting 13-2. And then they go 55-92 down the stretch. Under that pace throughout all 162 games, the Mariners would have finished 60-102. I wanted Seattle to go to the playoffs. They haven't been there since 2001. And to date, one of only 2 teams without a World Series appearance.
