June 29,30 in 2019 the red sox will be playing the yankees in london stadium,to try once again to get those darn brits interested in the great game of baseball and in my humble opinion it will be a waste of time.American can export its movies, music, and tv shows but one thing it cant export is its baseball. Its not the first time that it has tried, that was back in the 40's and england has been part of the european baseball league since the 50's.But after 60 years it really isnt anything more than a curiosity. The thinking is also flawed,by bringing two very famous teams they hope to generate interest but they are only famous in america, just imagine if the two of the greatest Indian cricket teams came to play in america, would you go?? I know, what the hell is cricket??Im sure the stadium will be filled but it will be mostly america tourists and a few brits with a confused look on their faces. The fact that almost nobody from england makes it to the major leagues also proves its a waste of time.

Surely MLB is aware of the concerns you numerate above, so then why do you think that they are doing it anyway?

The NFL game played in London every year has been hugely successful. And that often times involves at least one stinker of a team.

Who knows how it will go. Baseball has reinvented itself many times, and its popularity has never been greater. The world is a smaller place now, with everyone flying back and forth and TV broadcasting sports all over. It is conceivable that some Brits who have worked and lived in the US may have learned about baseball and even developed a fondness for the game. If these games do well you can bet there will be more soon. I’m curious to see how it goes.

I nominate the Rays as the adopted team of Great Britain.

You'll know it's caught on in the UK when there are baseball hooligans.

Yeah, getting to a ballpark 300 yards away from an interstate exit with 2x more parking spots than fans is quite the task.

Promoters must think it will be a big attraction as they are charging outrageous prices:

Premium seats at London’s Olympic Stadium will cost 385 pounds ($493) for the games between the New York Yankees and World Series champion Boston Red Sox on June 29 and 30. The top non-premium seats near the infield cost 320 pounds ($410).
