Congrats to the Rangers.

So now there are five teams that have never won a World Series (Padres, Brewers, Mariners, Rays, Rockies), and the Mariners are the only team among the five that has never appeared in the World Series.

Never would have thought Hell would freeze over, but tonight, it did. The Texas Rangers took their best roster and best team ever, and they kicked down Arizona's sand castle, four games to one. They just exploited the D-Backs in this series much in the same way they had with my Astros (at least, in the postseason), so Arizona has a lot of work to do in this offseason.

Congratulations, Rangers, and also, Ranger fans. I grew up with this franchise and the American League and never would have ever thought that this very franchise would ever get a championship. For years, they had been as futile as any team in baseball. Today finally did become sometime. Sixty-two years, and here it is. The era of long suffering in Arlington is now over. The Rangers have actually done it. To their credit, well-done!
