Well yes, I am a certified athletic trainer. However, I am not currently practicing because of school/interning. I became certified in 2006 and have worked for a major health system out of Detroit since last December while taking classes. I pretty much filled in for other ATCs who were on vacation or who could not cover events for other reasons. During my undergrad work at SVSU I covered a variety of sports for our school and traveled all over with the teams. I also covered at Northwood University (primarily soccer) for a semester. My time as a practicing ATC has been mainly covering high school events.

Athletic training requires many thankless hours and subpar pay. This is one of the many reasons I decided to move on into physical therapy. I am currently finishing my final year in the physical therapy program at Oakland University to receive my doctorate before I take my license exam. With that I plan on doing a mix of outpatient PT and inpatient PT (at least to start) but if the right opportunity came along I would focus on sports-based PT. It would be a dream to be a PT affiliated with the Detroit Red Wings but that's usually more about who you know than anything. Plus I also enjoy the hospital-based stuff too with strokes and spinal cord injuries, etc.

I'm also a PT.....I volunteer with a few pop-warner teams to help get and/or keep them in shape. It's just for fun but I take it seriously, it's tons of fun too!

I'm a sophomore Sports Management major, Business minor. Looking to work for a Major League Baseball team, and hopefully work in baseball operations in the future.
