The cubs are done, put a fork in 'em. Look out for cincy and St.Louis. To me it's a 3 team race even though all teams are very much in it. You're never really out of a race until you're.....we'll the Rockies just ruined any rule you could come up with.
Any of the top 4 teams could win it. Cincy has the best pitching, both in starting rotation and bullpen, but they also have the weakest hitting, especially when Votto is out. I think it will end up, Cincy, Chicago, STL, Milwaukee.
It's really too close to call. It may depend on what moves get made by the trade deadline.
I think a lot depends on what happens with the Cubs offense. Just about every player in the lineup is hitting below, to way below their potential. If Bradly and Soriano start swinging the bat and can stay healthy (and/or get healthy) and Ramirez can get back in the lineup by the all star break, they could go on a run.
I also like St. Louis and Milwakee in this division. Both are right there in the standings, and both have some quality bats and pitching. Cincy could be an outside threat with their young arms in their rotation. Even Houston, who has a habit of making big late season charges, could stay in this race.
Regardless, there is no clear favorite among this group. All these teams have big holes right now.
As an outsider (to the NL Central, I mean) the Cubs are my sentimental favorite; they're so overdue it's almost frightening. But in the end, I think St. Louis will win the division, with Chicago and Milwaukee going down to the wire for the wild card.
It's tough to say. But come on Milwaukee City. To not only be the first to respond to your own post but then saying the Cubs are done is a bit much
But really it could be any of those teams. If the Brewers pitching holds up, it's hard not to say them. If the Cubs offense hits like it should ever, then they should go on a huge run because their starting pitching has been amazing and it really should be them. The Cardinals are are so up and down it's crazy. They go on a huge run then go on a big losing streak. The Reds have talent but can they put it all together? And with Dusty managing them?
In the end, I'll say that the Cubs have way too much offensive talent not to start hitting so I'll go with them. But I won't lie - I'm a Cubs fan
In the end, I'll say that the Cubs have way too much offensive talent not to start hitting so I'll go with them.
true, however we are heading closer to the all star break, June is almost over. 3 months of the season is almost over I say if they haven't done it in the last 3 months when will they? it's not looking good for the cubs. It will be july then they will start pressing and then they will fall apart, or they could find themselves real fast and leap frog 4 teams.
