holy crap, the warriors are trying to trade for even LESS defense. love/martin/barea are some of the worst defenders in the league to go along with curry? ugh thats terrible
Yeah, the longer this goes on the more I'm not sure this would be such a steal for the Warriors. Green is a non-starter, even more than Klay, due to his defensive prowess and ability to show up in the postseason. Love and Martin I like, but was reading some tension between Love & Barea this past season d/t Love thinking JJ lazy, so not so sure about that.
If the Warriors make it Lee and Thompson only for this trade, they will still make out very well. They can have Love-Green-Iguodala at the 4-3-2 positions, without sacrificing offense, when they need stoppers on the floor. While Love may not be a good defender, David Lee is just as bad if not worse, and is declining on offense as well. Klay is a great jump-shooter, but what is keeping the Warriors from reaching the next level is lack of options beyond the jump-shot. Love offers that, and Martin is a quality SG to replace Thompson with Iggy & Barnes as back-up
Wow. The Warriors are idiots. Klay is their best perimeter defender. Curry barely plays defense at all.
Spot on. Martin and Love are both matadors on defense. There is no way you part ways with him even for Kevin Love. The Warriors have to remember the who they are up against. With all the dynamite perimeter players in the West there is no way you send your best perimeter defender packing for a big man who doesn't play like a true big.
Love is good, but he is not good as people think he is.

Love would still be an upgrade all around to Lee even though Lee is a double/double machine. I was glad to hear that Kerr and Jerry West stepped in to prevent the trade of Klay. I personally expect the next offer to be Harrison Barnes, Lee, maybe Green, and their 2015 1st round pick for Love, and maybe Martin too. The Warriors just have to wait until the 2014 draft is over to include next years pick based on league rules.
As for the rumor of the Lakers joining in with their 7th pick. Read my lips... NOT GOING TO HAPPEN !!! Why would we let the Lakers in so they could in essence trade a 1st round pick for Klay? Would we really go and help the Lakers like that? I think not !!!
