Yep. Have you heard the only other star on that team is hobbling around? LeBron, a hurt Irving and scrubs like Mozgov, Smith and Shumpert were good enough to get past a garbage team like the Celtics and a banged up Bulls team. Not gonna happen against a quality team like the Hawks. People are also overlooking the fact the Hawks have only lost 7 games at home all year including the playoffs, second only to the Warriors. Hawks get no respect, they will soon though.

Game 1 - Western Conference Finals
Warriors 110 Rockets 106
Golden State Leads Series 1-0

Despite Dwight Howard going down in the first quarter with a bummed knee the Rockets came out with good energy, shot 59% and took a 31-24 lead after one. Howard returned but it was the combined shooting of Josh Smith and Trevor Ariza that propelled the Rockets to a 16 point lead in the 2nd quarter. The Warriors who looked flat to start the game suddenly went on a 25-6 run to finish the 1st half and take a 58-55 halftime lead. Shaun Livingston had 16 points on 5-6 shooting to lead Golden State in the first half. In the third quarter the Rockets hung around and only trailed the Warriors by 5 at the end of the period 84-79. With James Harden's hot shooting the Rockets threaten in the 4th and evened the score 97-97. The Warriors then went on a 11-0 run but the Rockets responded with a run of their own 9-0. The Dubs eventually prevailed taking game one 110-106. These are the Conference Finals, the cream of the crop, the pros, it will be anything but easy. Golden State was led by Steph Curry 34 points and Livingston finished with 18. Draymond Green had 13 and 12 rebounds. The Rockets were led by Harden with 28 and 11 rebounds, Ariza added 20. Howard led the Rockets with 13 rebounds.

A bit close for comfort for the Dubs, but thanks to a valiant effort by all, they were able to put one in the W column. Basketball continues to be a game of spurts!

You gotta give the Rockets credit they came out and played a great game. That 7 game series with the Clippers certainly has made them a better battle ready team. I felt the same way about the Clippers when they went 7 against the Spurs then went up 3-1 vs the Rockets. With that said the Warriors did not play their best ball in game one. If they maintain focus on their strengths they should be fine. The Rockets are very capable of giving them a good series.

Game 2 - Western Conference Finals
Warriors 99 Rockets 98
Golden State Leads Series 2-0

Unlike game 1 the Warriors came out sharper and focused taking a 36-28 lead after one. The NBA MVP Steph Curry dropped 15 in the opening quarter with 5-7 from beyond the arc. With Dwight Howard nursing a bummed knee, Andrew Bogut tested the paint and was 3-3 with 6 points. The Warriors shot 63% in the period. The lead was expanded to 49-32 in the 2nd quarter but the Rockets battled back with a 23-6 run to tie it 55-55 at the half. James Harden had 19 at the half to lead all scorers, Curry led Golden State with 17. Dwight Howard added 11 and 8 rebounds for the Rockets, so much for the bummed knee. The Warriors shot 57% but had 11 turnovers which was a significant factor for Rockets to even the score at halftime. In the third both teams battled back and forth and after 3 the game remained tight with the Warriors taking a slim 77-75 advantage. This continued well into the 4th then the Rockets with 33 seconds got within 1 after an alley oop from Howard via Harden-but it was too little too late as the Rockets had one last chance with a good defensive stop but the Warriors returned the favor and take game 2. Curry finished with 33, Bogut added 13 and 5 blocks 8 rebounds, Klay Thompson 13, Draymond Green 12. Harden kept Houston in the game finished with 38. Howard had 19 with 17 rebounds. The Dubs had 17 turnovers which was key in keeping the Rockets in the game-that and Hardens great scoring.

The Warriors did their part, now the plan is to at least take one in Houston. Right now they are up 2-0 and one win on the road gives them a huge advantage, so we will see.

I hope they aren't thinking that. The great championship teams want to put you away asap. That's a major thing that separates them from non championship teams, that killer instinct. You can't afford to give away playoff games thinking you only need to win one game on the road, that's a losers mentality. Just ask the Clippers, who obviously thought they could take their foot off the gas up 3-1 and give away a playoff game, how that worked out.

I think you're taking it wrong. I'm not saying they should win only one. They OBVIOUSLY try to win them all, but if they do win at least one of the two road games, it is a major step and advantage for their title.

Ah ok, I thought you were saying they should go to Houston just trying to win one game. Thats a recipe for disaster. Like I said, just ask the Clippers who mailed game 5 in thinking they would wrap it up in game 6 at home. I hope the Warriors are going into tonight like they are down 0-2, bring the intensity and win and then come out in game 4 with a killer instinct. Thats what the great ones do.
