If you go all the way back to 1980, not one of those teams who won the NBA Finals was heavily reliant on scoring from shooting 3 pointers. They all had other ways of scoring besides pulling up for the 3 pointer or the fast break. I mean we all can agree that they are fun to watch but is their style of play really going to lead to them winning a NBA championship? Most of their points come from shooting the 3 pointer or fast break which was not the style of any of the teams who won the title the last 15 years

2000 to 2002.......LAKERS
2003....SPURS
2004....PISTONS
2005.....SPURS
2006......HEAT
2007.....SPURS
2008.....CELTICS
2009.....LAKERS
2010.....LAKERS
2011......MAVS
2012.....HEAT
2013....HEAT
2014.....SPURS

They kind of remind me of a NBA version of the Colts from 2000 to 2010, kick a$$ during the regular season but easy to game plan for in the playoffs. So all that razzle and dazzle sh*t is coming to an end at some point because those types of teams don't win titles based on history.

Not sure yet but it will be a team that can hurt you down low that's for sure. I was leaning toward Memphis but sure yet but I will predict before the playoffs start.

2012 Heat was 5th in the league in % of FG attempts from 3-pt
2010 Mavs was 3rd
2008 Celtics was 9th
2007 Spurs was 5th
------------

So there goes that theory ...

Ok then go back 20 years and see how many championship teams were among the least 3-pt shooting teams in the league like Memphis is now.

Better yet, how many championship teams were good at limiting their opponent's FG%?

'14 Spurs 8th
'13 Heat 6th
'12 Heat 5th
'11 Mavs 8th
'10 Lakers 5th
'09 Lakers 6th
'08 Celtics 1st

Memphis still slows the game down which is one way to beat a team like Golden State. Isn't this Golden State Team of 2015 and Memphis of 2015 similar to the Suns and Spurs of 2005?

Suns..........."Run and Gun type of Team"

Spurs..........."Not as fast and shoots less threes"

'04 Spurs - 3rd-best in opponent FG%
Spurs opponents averaging league low 88 ppg while the Suns were the worst, allowing 103 ppg.

That's the Mike d'Antoni trademark ... no defense.

GSW are on a pace to win 66 games in the regular season. According to this, only 16 teams have won 65 or more, and of those 16, 13 went on to win titles.

16 NBA teams with 65 wins; Cavs once; Michael Jordan's Bulls thrice | cleveland.com

Historical patterns tend to continue...until they don't. We've never seen a team before with a tandem like Thompson and Curry. Plus Barnes is in the top 10 in 3 pt pct.

I have been saying this for some time, but don't expect the Warriors to even make it through the West. And I will bump this post in May/June to prove it.

I predicted the Dubs wouldn't even make the playoffs, and they surprised the hell out of me, far exceeding my expectations.

It will be interesting to see how they do in the playoffs, and I hope you're wrong. I'd like to see them win it all. My motto this season is, "anybody but Cleveland".
